Dear Players, Parents and Basketball Fans,
We would like to welcome you to the 35th Annual Championship Finals, being held at Sugar Sand Park Field House. Boca Hoops would like to thank Boca Raton Beach and Parks District for allowing us to use this beautiful facility this 2023 Season. Championship Weekend marks the closing of our 34th season for the Boca Hoops Youth Basketball Program. This year we had over 1000 participants in 8 age divisions. During the course of the 2023 season, we were able to play games in eight area school gymnasiums and the beautiful Sugar Sand Park facility. We thank all of these schools and the City Recreation Department for the opportunity to use their facilities.
The Board of Directors of Boca Hoops would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have donated their time to ensure the success of our 34th season.
We would also like to thank the volunteer coaches who gave their time and energy to teach our Hoopsters the game of Basketball. To all of you, especially the players in our league, we want to thank you for your participation and look forward to seeing many of you in the 2024 season!
Sincerely,
Jody Forstot and Mike Doyle

The Robert Mufson Sportsmanship Award
The Robert Mufson Sportsmanship Award is given in the name of Robert Mufson, a man that coached and sponsored Boca Hoops from its inception in 1989. Unfortunately, Robert Mufson passed away in April of 2002 after a two-year battle with cancer. He was a man who truly loved the game of basketball and the players he coached. He believed the game was more than wins and losses. He believed in respect for one another, teamwork and sportsmanship.
The Robert Mufson Sportsmanship Award is given to one player from each team. This player has shown the courage to be themselves. They have shown their love of the game of basketball and have balanced the desire to win with the enjoyment of playing the game. This player does not have to be the special athlete but rather a special person who understands the meaning of sportsmanship, one who truly cares about others, such as players, teammates or opponents, coaches, referees and parents.
This award is a landmark in Boca Hoops tradition. It recognizes a quality in our children other than pure athleticism. The winners of this honorable award may be viewed on the Boca Hoops web site at www.bocahoops.com.
